The circuit was originally designed be powered by e-waste – it is recommended that CAUTION is used when using rechargable batteries, especially when using e-waste. Please look in to adding a suitable protection circuit, and check with an expert if you are unsure what is best.

NI Science Festival Hackathon 2024 at SARC (Feb).
This 3-hour beginners SDIWO* in-person workshop connects the themes of art, music, technology and power through a mix of theory and practice.
Participants will use small microcontrollers to produce and manipulate 8-bit audio. The topics of sound creation, modulation and manipulation, and how we power our technologies are covered in practical exercises. Hacking is encouraged. With guidance, participants will decide on the functionality of their synth and select sensors for interaction.
Hardware will be powered using e-waste. The batteries that will drive the circuits are sourced from disposable e-cigarettes. This workshop encourages participants to consider the materials and resources used in art practices in terms of the impact created on the audience and environment.
