I made a video for some very talented musicians called Corás Trio. They make a fantastic sound. Here is an interview with them. They bring together a whole lot of influences.
I used some footage they gave me along with some hints about colours they liked. I made a reactive patch to animate some shapes which responded to the instrumental stems they supplied and then I played back my elements through a circuit bent video processor I made a few years ago.
Maker & music producer Barry Joseph Cullen uses withered technologies and found materials with hi-fi audio and graphics to create work. He uses old DIY & new tech approaches. He uses appropriation and physical remixing to present questions and answers to address the connection between traditions. His work deals with the relationships between people, places and things.

The second of a three-part, three-year series of NIMHAF residencies this year has travelled to meet the artists and organisations of Beirut, Lebanon.
A conflict journalist retraces old steps through the cities of Belfast and Beirut. They haunt former hotels, invoke old rituals and begin to piece together missing memories. As those landscapes open up we watch the colours of two histories bleed together. Buried traumas peer through surfaces and the reporter rediscovers a strange machine that threatens to unearth them completely.

We are very sad to announce that, due to illness, we will have to postpone our album launch which was due to take place tomorrow. This decision has been thrust upon us, but we apologise for any inconvenience.
Thankfully, with the help of our friends (and certifiable good eggs) at Moving On Music and Middle Aisle we have been able to reschedule the event to take place in the same venue on Saturday the 11th of May. On a plus note, we are exited that the event will now also be part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival. For this reason all future purchases will need to be made via the festival website https://cqaf.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/873658164 Any tickets purchased before this postponement will remain valid.
Moving on Music invites you to a morning and afternoon of practical handmade music with musician, improviser, teacher and instrument maker, Barry Cullen.
You will have the chance to build and take home your very own O’Scamp! Created by Barry in 2019, the O’Scamp is a 9 volt audio oscillator and amplifier that can be controlled by light.
The workshop is open to all abilities – a working knowledge of electronics is not necessary. An introduction to components is included and no soldering is required. Materials to build the O’Scamp will be provided.
